Shadow Root Balayage

Balayage is an excellent hair colour technique which involves your House of Colour expert painting the colour onto your hair in a freehand manner to accentuate your hairstyle and facial features. Balayage gives your hair a subtle colour finish that looks sun-kissed and natural. The effect of balayage is less obvious than traditional foil highlights, with a much less noticeable root regrowth - making it a low maintenance hair colour option. Balayage can be used on all hair colours, even grey hair colour, and can be a fun way to add vibrant fashion colours to your hair!

Shadow root balayage is where a darker shade is added at the root area seamlessly blending towards a lighter shade at the tips.

Ombré Hair Colour, Dublin

An ombré hair colour is usually more obvious than balayage, so you can see the colour difference between the tones used.  The word ombré comes from the French word that means “shadow” or “shade.”  The most popular types of ombré are traditional ombré and reverse ombré. Preparing For Your Balayage Or Ombré 

Book in for a complimentary hair colour consultation at House of Colour in Dublin where we will assess the colour and condition of your hair and advise you on the results we can achieve. The health of your hair is a top priority for us so our expert colour technicians will tailor your hair colour to create the perfect look without damaging your hair during the lightening process. We may also recommend a bond strengthening treatment such as WELLAPLEX. 

If you haven’t visited House of Colour in Dublin in the last 6 months, we will also ask you to come in for a quick skin allergy test at least 48 hours prior to your balayage or ombré appointment to ensure you will not suffer any allergic reactions to the colours involved. 

Root Shadowing, Root Stretching & Colour Melts

 Root stretching and colour melts are colouring techniques similar to balayage used to gently blend your natural root colour with a lighter colour towards the ends. We can ‘stretch’ or ‘smudge’ your root colour and add multi-dimensional shades, growing lighter towards the tips of your hair for an on-trend hair colour look.
